An internal research review panel will consider more expensive or unlisted items on a case by case basis. The panel will consist of;
Appeals relating to panel decisions will be heard by the Director of Research
1. Consider the destination journal of your research - is there an appropriate journal available through a Read & Publish Agreement? If there is, follow the Read & Publish Workflow below.
2. If no suitable journal is available via a Read & Publish agreement, consider the potential audience for your research? Does the audience for your research have a common point of reference where a link can be shared? Contact Pure@uws.ac.uk to check that any embargo period for the journal selected does not exceed the stated REF maximum period. If there is a common reference point, and any embargo period meets requirements, follow the Green Open Access Workflow below.
3. If there is no suitable journal available via a Read & Publish agreement, and the audience for your research is more widespread, consider the cost and planned destination of your research. If the cost of the APC is less than £2,500 AND the journal is listed in DOAJ, follow the Open Access Funding Workflow below.
4. If your are considering an article APC charge costing over £2,500, an Open Access monograph with the SUP, or a journal that is not listed in DOAJ, follow the Review Panel Workflow below.
