Inter Library Loans: Receiving your requested items

How to access a journal article, book or conference paper not held by UWS Library

Receiving electronic items

You will be sent a PDF file in most cases. We recommend you save this in a secure location.

If the item is requested from the British Library, you will be sent a direct link instead.  Please note that the ILL team may not have access to the item once opened.

Collecting print loans

The ILL Team will notify you when your print loan is ready for collection.

This will be held in your chosen campus Library for 7 days.  Please collect your item as soon as possible.

Non-collection may result in suspension of your library privileges for a period of time.

Will I be able to renew an Inter Library Loan book?

All renewal requests must be agreed with the lending library on a case-by-case basis.

These requests must be submitted to ills@uws.ac.uk at least 5 working days before the due return date.

Inter Library Loan renewals are chargeable and must be paid in full by the requester.  Please contact the ILL team for more information.

Returning print books

Loaned items can be recalled at any time by the lending library.

Prompt return of loaned items is expected.

Please return loans to UWS Library before the advised due date.

If posting, please use a 'Signed For' service, which enables tracking of the item.
