Reading for Pleasure & Wellbeing: World Book Day

Welcome

World Book Day - Changing lives through a love of books and reading

What is it?

World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and is marked in over 100 countries. World Book day is a registered charity and their mission is to promote reading for pleasure, and offer every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success.

Join UWS Library in celebrating the pleasure and power of reading. You can search our library catalogue One Search for books by your favourite authors or simply click on any of the book images in the different tabs of this guide to find your next great read, they are all linked into One Search.
