  • Using referencing managing software?  Export the record to your chosen referencing managing software, e.g. Endnote. This software is free to download for staff and students of UWS. Details on how you can do this can be found in the Endnote and Endnote Online Library guides.

How to Access

Go to Databases A-Z and select "SAGE Knowledge".

When prompted, sign in with your student/staff Microsoft email and usual password.

Search Terms and Keywords

SAGE  Knowledge advanced search option allows the use of BOOLEAN Operators, Parenthesis and Wildcard/ truncation searching.  Further examples can be found on the sister site for SAGE Journals search help page.

Boolean Operators  (Advanced Search option)

The Boolean operators AND, OR, and NOT can be applied to search terms.

• AND (also + or &)

Use AND to search for documents containing two or more terms. For example, the following query returns documents containing both cat and dog:  cat AND dog

The AND operator is applied by default; for example cat AND dog produces the same results as cat dog.

• OR

Use OR to search for documents containing at least one of two or more terms. For example, the following query returns documents containing cat, documents containing dog, and documents containing cat and dog:  cat OR dog

• NOT (also -)

Use NOT to search for documents that do not contain a given term. For example, the following query returns documents containing cat but not containing dog:  cat NOT dog
