How to use SciFinder

Please note that SciFinder is a very powerful discovery tool for a wide range of chemical information. Chemical Abstracts Services have produced a number of support tools and documentation designed to help you make the most effective use of SciFinder and the resources that it offers.

SciFinder-n

SciFinder-n is the new interface for SciFinder.  It is possible that SciFinder-n may replace the classic interface in the future.

There are some differences between the two and CAS have produced a wide range of material designed to help you use the SciFinder-n interface effectively.

CAS Source Index (CASSI) Search Tool is a means of identifying publication titles indexed by CAS since 1907.

CAS Common Chemistry is an open community resource containing information on over 500,000 commonly used chemicals from the CAS Registry.

Pistoia Alliance Chemical Safety Library (CSL) provides crowd sourced data on hazardous reactions that can be used to alert scientists to potentially dangerous experiments.
