How To Use Mintel

  • Reports - in-depth analysis of sectors and the most useful resource in Mintel - our subscription only includes UK reports.
  • Insights - short analysis of topics.
  • News - very short snippets about brands or sectors.

The latest reports also discuss how COVID-19 has affected each sector and how they can recover over the next several years.

 

Search Mintel

Use the search bar on the Mintel homepage to search for:

  • An industry (e.g. haircare)
  • A product/brand (e.g. Dove)
  • A company (e.g. Unilever)

You can narrow the results to include specific types of content or a set date range. After each search, press 'Clear all' to reset your filters.

If your area is new or very specific there may not be a full report, but if you search for a key term you may find smaller pieces of information across several reports.

 

Browse Mintel

Use the categories at the top of the Mintel homepage to find all the results for a particular category or demographic. Trend drivers are not included in our subscription, so you don't need to use this to search.

 

Read and download reports

  • Summaries - Each report has a short executive summary, infographic and PowerPoint.
  • Full text - The full report is underneath the summary. Use the Table of Contents, Content Map or drop-down menu to move between sections. You can also search within a report for a specific keyword.
  • Downloading - You can't download an entire report. When you are viewing a section, click 'Doc' in the top left-hand of the screen to download it as a Word document. 
  • Data - Each report includes a large amount of data. Click 'Download into Spreadsheet' underneath a table to download the information. You can download the full databook in Excel or use the Interactive Databook to create personalised charts with the information you need for your work.
