What is Cambridge Core?

Cambridge Core is the principal academic platform from Cambridge University Press. 

Use it to find good quality full text peer reviewed journal articles about the following subject areas:

Content, Coverage & Description

Are all Cambridge books and journals available on Cambridge Core?

There are more than 41,000 ebooks on Cambridge Core. Almost all recently published titles, as well as many older titles are available on Cambridge Core. However, the back library is extensive and it has not been possible to digitise all of the titles yet.

Is there a list of journals, I can browse?   

 View a complete list or search by subject on the ‘Browse subject’ pages. 

How to search

How to search for content on Cambridge Core.

  • Click on the search bar in the centre of Cambridge Core or Click on the search bar in the top right hand corner of any other Cambridge Core website.
  • Enter your search term and click on the magnifying glass icon or press the enter key.
  • The search results will display on the following screen.

Top Tips - Refining your search results

How to refine search results on Cambridge Core.

When you have your search results on-screen you can refine your searching using the Refine Search options on the left hand side of the website.

Filters include:

Access

  • Only Show Content I Have Access To -

    Restricts the search results to the full text content purchased by UWS Libraries as well as Open Access resources.

  • Only Show Open Access - Restricts the search results to only show content set as Open Access.

Content Type

  • Articles
  • Chapters
  • Books       
  • Author 

Publication Date

  • Last 3 Years    
  • Over 3 Years    
  • From/To Year   

Other 

  • Subject
  • Tags -Tags are also known as Keywords   
  • Journals 
  • Publishers 

How to access

Go to Databases A-Z and select 'Cambridge Core'.

  1. Select Cambridge Core from the list.
  2. At the Microsoft login, enter your UWS email address and password.
  3. Click on 'ok'.
