EndNote: EndNote and MacOS

Use EndNote to gather and organise references for your assignments and projects

EndNote and MacOS

EndNote20 is compatible with MacOS but features and options may differ from the Windows information elsewhere on this guide.

For details on using EndNote 20 with MacOS, see the technical advice and support guides from EndNote's publisher. Examples of technical advice include:

EndNote and Safari are not compatible

We do not recommend using the Safari browser with EndNote as this is not setup for the direct export of entries from bibliographic databases into EndNote.

Using EndNote with Pages

Not using MS Word - you can also use Pages with EndNote.  See Apple Support for details.

EndNote Click and Google Chrome

Several MacOS users have experienced technical issues when using Google Chrome.  Mozilla Firefox is therefore the recommended browser for MacOS users.

The EndNote app is useful if:

You use an iPhone or iPad and want to read sources or easily manage your references while on the move.

Accessing the app

The EndNote app is available for download from the iOS App Store.
